School Games Award

Grove Junior School are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Sainsbury’s School Games Silver Award for our participation levels in PE and sport.  Here are a few highlights of why we have received this award:

* 52% of our pupils attended extra-curricular sports/physical activities after school last year

* We had a number of teams competing against other schools in a wide range of sporting competitions

* We provide each pupil with 2 hours of quality PE each week

* Engage 10% or more pupils as young sports/activity leaders

* We have links with sporting/physical activity clubs in the community

It is an outstanding achievement to be awarded and the school as a whole has worked well together to achieve this.  We would like to thank all staff, pupils and parents who have given their time to contribute to the running of clubs along with parents and carers who pick up their children and allow them to participate.

We are striving to achieve the gold standard by this time next year so with the same amount of effort and commitment, we are sure we will be close to achieving this award.
